Kee Mah, Pickleball CalgaryThe Oakridge Community Centre in southwest Calgary is in the process of building new multipurpose outdoor courts that will be used for tennis, pickleball, volleyball, speedbadminton and several other outdoor sports.

The entire project, which will be completed in four phases over the next four years, will include four two-court tennis batteries, an expanded parking lot and new landscaping.

When it is completed, the facility will have a total of eight tennis courts, sixteen pickleball courts, two netball courts and one volleyball court. It will also be possible to reconfigure the courts for tournaments and host a maximum of 32 pickeball courts (or 128 pickleball players) simulateously.

Also exiciting for Calgary pickleball players is that the new courts will be built with the Premier Court surfacing system which is currently in use at the US Open Tennis Complex in New York. This impact absorbing cushion surface means that Oakridge will be able to offer the softest outdoor courts in North America. It will truly be a senior-friendly racquet sports facility and will be Canada’s premier outdoor pickleball club.
