Canada Pickleball Officially Recognized

03.30.2011 · Posted in Pickleball News

It’s official. The Canadian Pickleball Federation (a.k.a. Canada Pickleball) has been officially registered by Corporations Canada.

Their application to incorporate was approved on March 3, 2011. Letters patent were issued the same day.

This makes the Canadian Pickleball Federation the only legitimate, non-profit, national pickleball association in Canada.

More importantly, though, the Canadian Pickleball Federation is now considered to be the official governing body for the sport of pickleball by Sport Canada — the federal agency responsible for funding sports at the national level.

The Canadian Pickleball Federation earned this privilege by being first to incorporate and by being the first to affiliate with duly registered provincial and territorial pickleball associations.

All of this is great news for Canadian Pickleball players who wish to see all players and all pickleball paddles included in Canadian pickleball programs and tournaments.

Basic memberships in this national organization are currently free to all Canadians. Those who wish to join may do so via canadapickleball.ca.
